1000KM ACROSS MONGOLIA ON HORSEBACK

Inspirational Keynote Speaker, Holly Budge, Shares Actionable Insights on How To Build Mental Toughness

I SAID YES

Two weeks after becoming the first woman to skydive Everest, I received a phone call. “Hi Holly, would you like to take part in another world first expedition?”

I said, “Yes, what is it?”

They said, “It’s a 1000km horse race across Mongolia riding semi-wild horses?”

I had the skills already (and after a quick call a sponsor too!) so I said…

“HELL YEAH!”

It took me nine days and I rode 25 horses, setting a world record for the ’World’s Longest Horse Race.’

TAKEAWAYS

  • When you break overwhelming challenges into bite-size actions, what once seemed impossible, CAN become achievable. Specify to simplify is one of my mottos. The more specific you are about your goals, the simpler it becomes to work towards them. In the business world, that could mean asking yourself, where is your future business coming from? Who are your future clients? Why do you want to work for them?

  • Embrace failure as a learning opportunity and persevere in facing setbacks.

  • Surround yourself with positive people who uplift and encourage you, and make you believe anything is possible.
